by Hazel CourteneyCountdown to Coherence

This is an amazing book.  The author, Hazel Courteney, has previously written two books about her paranormal experiences and this is a journey on which we join her from April 2008 to December 2009 to try to explain the past events.  In down to Earth, everyday language, the author tries to share with the reader facts and theories that she finds fascinating and useful. She presents to us ideas from distinguished yet controversial thinkers – from scientists, to shamans, to psychologists and beyond, all in ways that each of us can access at our personal levels of understanding.  The fundamental concept to be explored is that there is an underlying intelligence that exists at all levels of reality, throughout time, across every dimension and within everything.  Hazel goes on to delve deeply into the idea that our universe had its beginnings in perfect coherence before spiralling into increasing disorder and that current times have started us all on the journey home to coherence.  Once we have reached this countdown to coherence, the author leaves us and our paths part; but it is a whirlwind of ideas and concepts that will certainly leave you gasping and thinking about why we are here, where we need to go and why and how much more we are capable of than we’ve ever imagined.

Why Awakening Experiences Occur and How to Make Them Permanent

By Steve Taylor Waking From Sleep

Walt Whitman, William Blake and William Wordsworth experienced shifts in consciousness that could be called peak experiences or altered states of consciousness. These moments, known by indigenous people, children, mystics and saints, provide a sense of expansiveness, egolessness and wellbeing. Steve Taylor has made a study of these experiences that can be induced in a number of ways. He divides them into two categories: HD (Homeostasis Disruption) which is a wild ecstasy state brought on by activity that disrupts our natural patterns, and can be produced by hunger, sleep deprivation, certain drugs, pain and breathing exercises (all of which have drawbacks) and ISLE states (Intensification and Stilling of Life Energy) brought on by meditation, sports, sexual activity, music, kundalini, near death experiences, satsang and ego detachment.

Those who have both these types of experiences describe an intense feeling of contentment, unification and an awareness of the immense beauty of the world. It is accompanied by a realisation that happiness is not achieved through status or the accumulation of material possessions. Steve Taylor describes present awareness as a state of ‘sleeping’ and the beautiful higher states of consciousness as ‘waking up’ to reality.

by Maria Pelegarisveils of illusion

At times we feel that our lives must have a higher purpose. We long to connect to our own individual Truth. Should one of our life’s challenges become extremely difficult to bear, we might refer to it as the dark night of the soul.

Sophia is a young woman who has become very dissatisfied and disillusioned with life.  She feels trapped. She is then forced to take a journey through the dark night of the soul in her quest for greater meaning. “To be truly free you have to face yourself,” the wise old man of the forest tells Sophia early on in her journey.

The Veils of Illusion is an allegory; a mystical journey of discovery during which Sophie undergoes many trials and tests, each providing her with the arduous tasks of learning greater wisdom and new insights. She encounters a variety of unique and intriguing characters along the way, yet her ultimate goal is to meet her own Shadow self – her unconscious.

This story evokes deep recognition from the first page, and offers hope to anyone who walks their own sacred journey of self-discovery. The resistance to change, woven in with the knowledge that change must occur in order to progress – the challenges which must be met, the frustrations and the joys. This is a book which will open your eyes to the ‘inner’ you; the subconscious which plays such a huge part in your life, but remains unrecognised for so much of the time.  This is an extremely powerful and moving story – be prepared to ride that roller coaster of emotion along with Sophia as she treads her path to wholeness. On a scale of 1 to 10, this book scores 10 plus!

by Tony NeateSecrets of Planet Earth

Tony Neate, a well-known and respected channel of higher wisdom channels H-A, or Helio Arcanophus who was a High Priest of the Sun living in the early days of Atlantis  Now perceived more as a universal consciousness he offers his undertanding of the Universe and covers a wide range of topics including the Fall of Atlantis, The Garden of Eden, The Olympian Civilisation, issues about race, the rise of religion, the new Earth, achieving world peace, and much more.

H-A explains the processes at work behind many of the problem areas we have today, showing us what is happening energetically and historically and why there often appears no resolution.  The Fall of Atlanits is covered in some depth shedding useful new light on how it happened and how the skills of the Atlanteans were lost.  I was particulary interested in his explanation of the dark energies and those that appear to work with the dark, rather than the light.  There is much fear and misinformation of this subject and it is helpful to have it put into context.

I found this book a riveting read and zipped through it in no time.  There is so much information packed into every sentence – no wasted words – and very easy to assimilate.  I would heartily recommend this book to anyone interested in the hidden knowledge of planet Earth and it’s future.

by Dr John F. DemartiniCount Your Blessings

This book is transformational, and I don’t say this lightly as I’ve been a fan of John F Demartini for several years (seeing him in Conscious Cinema talks). John’s book is a beautifully crafted balance of ancient wisdom, real life stories and practical processes on how to align with Gratitude and Love.

I run a Gratitude Group in Sussex so thought this would be an ideal book to learn from and I was not disappointed! John’s work is well researched – he has studied hundreds of modalities over a 30 year period. This is paired with a generous dose of unconditional love and empathy, John truly wants to guide the reader to feel gratitude for everything and everyone in your life. Is this achievable? With some effort, yes! I examined so many areas of my own life and realised with some big revelations, both painful and amazing -that by shifting perceptions, taking responsibility and choosing to feel love and gratitude in my heart (not head) how rewarding this process can be.

This is a brilliant, heart opening process – highly recommended if you want to heal the past and create a happy, healthy and abundant life.

by Tsultrim AllioneFeeding Your Demons

Are you struggling with any of the following: depression, anxiety, an eating disorder, a difficult relationship, fear, self-hatred, addiction or anger? Renowned Buddhist leader Tsultrim Allione explains that the harder we fight our demons, the stronger they become. So, if we want to liberate ourselves from the fight for once and for all, we must reverse our approach and nurture our demons. This powerful five-step practice forms a strategy for transforming negative emotions, relationships, fears, illnesses and self-defeating patterns to help you cope with the inner enemies that undermine your best intentions. By recognising your demons, giving them form and feeding them, you can free yourself from the battle. Enriched with detailed examples to show how others have transformed their demons, Feeding your Demons will give you remarkable new insight into the forces that threaten to defeat you, along with the tools to achieve inner peace.

When I first heard about Feeding your Demons, I did not feel inclined to read or buy it. After all, as a Lightworker, I would rather read about Angels, Masters and Beings of Light. But when my mother went to a workshop by Tsultrim about working with inner demons, I was amazed by the transformation in her, so I started reading the book. I realised it really is a wonderful book to read and truly inspirational. As a therapist I so very often see people fighting against their problems, fighting against their fears, all the while increasing the problem by doing so. What you resist persists. Instead of fighting your inner demons, this book teaches you an ancient Buddhist practice to embrace your inner demons and by doing so transform them into protectors and allies.

This book is a must-read, but more importantly a must-try, because the real power in this book is not in the reading, but in practising feeding your own inner demons.

Soul Angelsby Jenny Smedley

Do you ever wonder if you might have had a past life, and how it might affect you today? Do you ever dream that your connections to angels might be even closer than you thought?

This book brings these two concepts together in a dramatic revelation that will forever change the way you see yourself. Take a journey with Jenny Smedley as she explores and explains past lives and how they contribute to problems you might have today.

Discover the real you, and be prepared to be surprised and amazed at the wondrous being you’ll find. Soul Angels delves into angelic realms that you never dreamed existed, and shows you the path to true inner happiness.

This book is well written and reads like a wonderful novel. It takes you on a journey showing how past lives affect people’s current problems. It tells us that we do not only have guardian angels but also a Soul Angel that watches over all our incarnations and helps us keep on our true life’s path. The amazing news is that we are in truth a part of this Soul Angel, a little fraction of it that was sent to earth to learn, grow and experience. Thus, we are in truth of angelic origin. What a wonderful thought!

In this book all current problems are linked to past life trauma’s and the answer to this is to find a regression therapist to work through these past life issues. Though I find it an intriguing idea, I do wonder if there are not other ways to go about this without being dependant on an external.

All in all, a book well worth reading.
