by Alison Chester-LambertAstrology Reading Cards

Illustrated by Richard Crookes

These cards seem to hold an energy of enchantment which somehow expands as they get to know you?  When I received these cards I opened them and felt a magical energy, almost as if they have been infused with some of the stardust of which they speak. Yes, I know that sounds a bit weird; but aren’t these weird times? Are we not opening up to magical moments from all sorts of unexpected places? Just to be sure that it’s not just me being ever so slightly O.T.T.   I passed them around a few friends who, I can assure you, are all level headed and grounded (well, most of the time). They loved that they are visually stunning, and that they are easy to use, and most of all that they are a personal reading, with cards that are chosen from your own intuitive self. And, spookily, they each remarked on the magic, the “bit that defies description” as one of them put it. Hmmm not just me then… Phew!

Today however, I met a friend who is a wonderfully gifted tarot reader/teacher and author.  As I handed her the cards, she immediately recognised their powerful energy. Even more WOW … proof positive that the ‘gut feeling’ that we had all experienced was accurate! Choosing the cards she tuned in to their archetypes to give the reading, adding later that the accompanying booklet is an excellent way for beginners to learn the fundamentals of astrology.

But it doesn’t stop there, I have been using these cards now for a couple of weeks, and they really do seem to connect with you, opening up your own intuitive abilities each time you ask for their guidance.   How brilliant is that !!

In creating these cards Alison Chester-Lambert shares her passion for astrology and the cosmos; and in doing so, also shares the magic that happens when we glimpse the bigger picture and see that we have always been guided by the stars. Perhaps they think it is time for us to shine too.

with Seeliana MarchisioReiki Drum

Reiki Drum healing is a healing treatment combining the Shamanic drum with reiki healing.  My initial reaction was “how can the two go together?” so I was amazed how well they do work together!

Celia originally qualified as a music teacher and went on to become a spiritual healer, reiki master and teacher.

After a few formalities, and a few deep breaths to relax, Celia spent about twenty minutes ‘scanning’ me as I lay on the couch by tapping the drum with a continuous beat checking for any blockages or areas that need healing.

The drum appeared to change pitch at appropriate times.  The drumming literally engulfed me, so soothing.

Drumming was followed by a reiki treatment.  The reiki seemed to be somewhat enhanced by the drumming.  I found the whole treatment a very healing and uplifting experience, the session lasted about an hour.

It only came to the UK in 2007 but I am sure it will catch on!

by Steve TaylorOut of the Darkness

In this well written and easy to read book, Steve Taylor tells the stories of 30 people who have undergone permanent spiritual awakening after intense trauma and turmoil in their lives.  With sensitivity and compassion Taylor tells these people’s amazing stories and points out how many go on to become spiritual teachers themselves, Eckhart Tolle being a prime example of this.

There is a whole section of the book called ‘Death:The Great Awakener’ which explains how those who know they are going to die can reach a point where they accept death and feel a miraculous sense of wholeness and freedom and the glory of living fully in the present.

The last section of the book is dedicated to why some people go through this experience and why it has this transformational power. This reflects upon the factor of letting go and the importance of becoming psychologically free of attachment to possessions, ambitions, status and regrets and to being more self sufficient and inwardly whole. In conclusion, the author goes on to suggest that we can all attain this level of awakening without actually putting ourselves through intense suffering and discusses how this can be achieved. The book shows us how natural spiritual awakening is to us all.

The book is inspiring because it shows us just how we can choose to make something excellent out of the worst events and experiences that life can throw at us.  It helps us to face some of the fears generated in our lives in society to-day, and know that enlightenment is latent in all of us. We can build a world in which people can live in harmony with themselves and each other; and that as long as we are prepared to face up to pain and suffering, there is nothing for us to be afraid of. The wonderful people described in this book give us living examples of this.

by Kenneth Little Hawk and Barbara MillerLittle Hawk

I absolutely loved this book! If you enjoy storytelling and you enjoy Native American ways of living, then this is a book for you. It is based on the teachings of Kenneth Little Hawk, a renowned storyteller, and it uses stories to explain to you how to tell stories. These stories can be read on many levels – to entertain, to teach culture and living in a good way, to show respect for our Earth or to learn the ancient art of storytelling.

You are challenged to read these stories seven times and to look deeper each reading and find the lessons in the stories. Each story, we are told, has one basic lesson, one intermediate lesson and one advanced lesson – covering the ways of storytelling. Little Hawk uses the stories to emphasise different aspects of storytelling – “What the Fire Taught Us” shows the use of special effects; “Our Many Children” introduces voice modulation and “Little Thunder’s wedding” offers the ways of formal story telling. The stories are simple and all about everyday people and their lives as they live them. They encourage us to find the same kind of stories for our audiences- ones about our lives and what matters to us in our cultures to-day; and can encourage us to live in better more harmonious ways with our environment and each other.

It is a book to read and then use, to practice the relevant and important skills offered, to recapture the essence of the vocal storytelling tradition to enrich our lives to-day.

Using the Qabalistic Code to Interpret the First Book of the Bible and the Teachings of Jesus. The Cipher of Genesis

by Carlo Suares

This is the 2005 edition of a book first published in 1970, and the introduction to this edition is written by Gregg Braden, a much respected writer and speaker. Carlos Suares (1892 – 1976) was a writer who used the Qabala (Kabballa, Cabala) to interpret the symbols which are encoded in both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.

Suares tells us that when the Book of Genesis is read according to the Qabalistic code, it is revealed that the names of Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, etc, are “abstract forms of cosmic energy focused in the human psyche”. The Qabala is ancient – it existed before the time of Abraham.

The aim of the book is to show that Genesis contains a tradition which had been lost but which was known to “the Rabbi Yhshwh better known as Jesus”, who attempted to expound it in his own time. All three of the major world religions have diverged, in their own ways, from the tradition; however, “the exact meaning of the original tradition can be made apparent today”. This is a most important time (as we are all aware) and ‘It’, (the Qabala) states the religious problem as it has to be stated, in a time when the further the horizon recedes, the nearer we come to the Mystery.

Part 3 of the book deals with the Gospels. The true interpretation of the relationship between Jesus and Peter, and of that between Jesus and Judas, is revealed. The task of Judas, and the role he played in the fulfilment of Jesus’ task; are seen in a totally new light.

This is not an easy book to summarise, or even to give a flavour of. It needs to be read patiently and thoroughly, and possibly more than once. However, the patient and thorough reader is well rewarded for their time and effort.  As Gregg Braden says in his introduction, “Suares opens an ancient door of understanding and invites us into the deepest mysteries of the Hebrew language, and life itself”.

by Dr Eric PearlThe Reconnection

Why are prominent doctors and medical researchers all over the world interested in the extraordinary healings reported by the patients of Dr Eric Pearl?

What does it mean when these patients report the sudden disappearance of afflictions such as cancer, AIDS-related diseases and cerebral palsy?

And what does it mean when people who interact with Dr Pearl report a sudden ability to access this healing energy not just for themselves but for others too?

You might have to reconsider everything you’ve read about conventional healing. The ‘new’ frequencies of healing described by Dr Pearl transcend ‘technique’ entirely and bring you to levels beyond those previously accessible to anyone, anywhere. This book takes you on Eric Pearl’s journey from the discovery of his ability to facilitate healings, to his well-deserved reputation as the instrument through which this process is being introduced to the world. But most importantly, The Reconnection reveals methods you can use to personally master these new healing energies.

I was entranced by this narrative of Dr Pearl’s journey from a scientific and somewhat sceptical perspective to being a channel of a healing method, which needs no complicated techniques, mantras or such. This is a story of transformation filled with insight, humour and deep understanding. A most definite ‘must read’ for all health practitioners.  In fact it is a ‘must read’ book for everyone. As you delve into its pages, keep an open heart and mind and prepare to be amazed, uplifted and perhaps transformed!
