A Weekend workshop with Dr Seija Nurmi, 17-18 April 2010 at the Kosmon Sanctuary, Walton-on-the-Hill, SurreyDr Seija Nurmi

Dr Seija Nurmi is a well-known teacher in her native Finland, where she has published the book Unconditional Love – A Guidebook.  It is awaiting publication in English, together with her next book The Light of the Ancients, both of which should become best-sellers.  She has also contributed to the collection entitled The Modern-Day Alchemist.

I was excited at the unique opportunity to attend the first workshop given by Seija in Britain as, from the details on the website, it offered a way to kick my spiritual growth back into action.  It did not disappoint.

The two days were packed with powerful activations and meditations, which started by calling in the energies of high-frequency beings, including Ascended Masters, Archangels and the Crystal Skull Conclave, while creating a light temple and sacred space in the room.  This was followed by chanting and calling in the silver-violet flame.

Seija began by summarising the explanation in the accompanying extensive manual of the connection between the Christ consciousness and Egypt, discussing the Neters (Egyptian pantheon) and Akhenaten’s role in bringing the country back to one God.  After short items on the 7 Principles of Thoth and the Flower of Life, we did a powerful meditation to activate our Love Merkabah by harmonising and activating the 13 chakras, followed by activation of our 13-strand DNA and cosmic meridians.

On the second day, we connected with the crystal skull conclave; several people had brought crystal skulls, so there were plenty to borrow.  A wonderful meeting with whales and dolphins, and information about their purpose on Earth followed, and we then used Hekau chants (Hekau is one of the higher languages from Atlantis) to create a powerful healing experience and activate our Higher Light Body, and there was a message from the Crystal Skull Conclave.  We anchored the energies of ancient Egyptian monuments into our bodies, danced our masculine and feminine sides into harmony (blindfold!), and the day finished with an impromptu message from Master Hilarion.

Seija has a great way of easing you into meditation, and the pauses at the end to ‘enjoy your journey’ were wonderful.  My best moment in these journeys was when I finally learnt to get out of my own way; or was it when Lord Sananda promised to carry me for a while?

I can’t really do justice to this life-changing weekend; suffice to say that everyone took away with them a profound sense of change as well as tools to continue the work, and several have since experienced significant evolutionary change.  I still re-activate my Higher Love Merkabah nightly.  It’s a great way to get into calm waters before lying down to sleep.

I can’t recommend this course highly enough for any seekers ready for some profound work.  One participant found it quite overwhelming, and there were several emotional moments, but given the chance, I would attend again.  The meditations will be available on CD shortly, and I will definitely buy and use them to maintain and deepen the work from the course.

“This is the most amazing experience of my life, two days that will last with me forever.  I will recommend this experience to anyone!” Jim, another participant.

Poems to soothe the Soul

by Nanna Aida SvendsenOf Water Lilies and Warm Hearts

“The poem ‘Will You?’ seems to resonate with our current time of cosmic changes and our role in it.  I love the powerfully short lines of this poem that speak straight to the heart.  ‘Live What You Love’ has a less formal style, bringing such a lovely example of what it is to truly live your life doing what you do with a sense of love.” Cathelijne Filippo-Kokkeel

“I really enjoyed these poems.  They were deeply simple yet shared a deepness that really captivated my senses.  Uplifting like the beginning of Spring:  they brought Hope.” Ann O’Keife

“Some poems relate to the inner you;  one’s inner voice is always right, if one can hear it and follow it life will become so much more worthwhile.  Other poems are saying if you don’t love yourself how can you expect others to love you? Loving yourself without ego is the key.” Alan Paine

by Tony SloaneKeenah by Tony Sloane

This is the remarkable story of Tony, an ex-SAS soldier and security consultant, who has been through the most testing of experiences, from childhood onwards.  But when his younger brother dies under mysterious circumstances in a South American prison, Tony seeks new meaning for his life and sets out on a journey that completely changes his world and understanding.  He finds himself on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Corsica, where he crosses paths with some amazing souls and begins to have experiences which change who he is forever.  He learns the value of detachment, awareness and intuition, and makes enormous leaps in his spiritual evolution.

This is a deeply inspiring and beautiful story, told with compassion and honesty, which shows that even the most difficult of life experiences can be overcome through spiritual practice and presence.  It is an absorbing read, but be aware that it does contain strong language.

by Larry Dossey MDThe Power of Premonitions

From his first premonition in his first year as a medical practitioner, Larry Dossey had to know why Time seemed to ‘flow backward carrying information into the present from the future’. After a cluster of vivid premonitions, he went on a quest to find the answer. After many years of painstaking empirical research, he has come to the conclusion that premonitions come ‘factory-installed and part of our original equipment’ and are present in humans and animals. He asks the reader to ‘ponder the implications of mind outside of Time’ and to invite premonitions into our lives so we can ‘touch that exquisite infinite realm to which premonitions, now as always, are a door’. He presents strong evidence that the existence of the knowledge of future events cannot be put down to just luck.

I would recommend his book to anyone with a thirst for scientific evidence of who we really are, who isn’t afraid of a long read.

by David Wells

The popular and likeable Astrologer, David Wells has an easy-to-read, amusing, conversational style of writing. His book is full of practical meditations to help us connect with our true selves finished off by his usual ‘tea and cake’ to ground ‘The Seeker’ in us. He shows us how to safely access our Soul, Past Lives, Spirit Guides, and departed Loved Ones. Finally, he introduces the reader to the Qabalah as well as ‘another piece of the astrological jigsaw’.

This is a lazy-sunny-afternoon read, with a piece of paper and a pen next to you to take notes if you want. Then you can do the recommended exercises later, or make up your own ones in a similar vein. David says it is entirely up to us how we do it. What are the ‘Secrets’? Well, I don’t want to spoil it for you. You’ll just have to read the book. I certainly enjoyed it.

By Liza DalbyEast Wind Melts the Ice

In this collection of essays Liza Dalby takes the 72 seasonal units of an ancient Chinese almanac as seeds, and grows them into a year’s journal, entwining personal experience, natural phenomena, and ruminations on the cultural aesthetics and preoccupations of China, Japan and California. Drawing connections between literature and nature, memory and experience, Liza mines her experiences over the years she spent in Japan where she first went to live at the age of sixteen.

East Wind Melts the Ice is a dazzling, wise and mosaic-like reflection of the world. It flows easily and poetically through each of the 72 seasons of China and Japan as Liza Dalby brings the reader closer to their times, meanings and legends. Who could not be amused by singing worms and entranced by the golden orioles’ courtship flight or the image of the fragrant cherry blossom. Season names such as ‘rainbows hide’, ‘the tiger begins to roam’ and ‘earthworms twist’ are a delight in themselves, especially as Liza weaves in the Californian changes of the year and compares the way of life in the East and the West.

Liza’s writing is superb – prepare to be enchanted and enthralled throughout as she brings together the two hemispheres in a kaleidoscope of glorious imagery.

by Tsultrim AllioneFeeding Your Demons

Are you struggling with any of the following: depression, anxiety, an eating disorder, a difficult relationship, fear, self-hatred, addiction or anger? Renowned Buddhist leader Tsultrim Allione explains that the harder we fight our demons, the stronger they become. So, if we want to liberate ourselves from the fight for once and for all, we must reverse our approach and nurture our demons. This powerful five-step practice forms a strategy for transforming negative emotions, relationships, fears, illnesses and self-defeating patterns to help you cope with the inner enemies that undermine your best intentions. By recognising your demons, giving them form and feeding them, you can free yourself from the battle. Enriched with detailed examples to show how others have transformed their demons, Feeding your Demons will give you remarkable new insight into the forces that threaten to defeat you, along with the tools to achieve inner peace.

When I first heard about Feeding your Demons, I did not feel inclined to read or buy it. After all, as a Lightworker, I would rather read about Angels, Masters and Beings of Light. But when my mother went to a workshop by Tsultrim about working with inner demons, I was amazed by the transformation in her, so I started reading the book. I realised it really is a wonderful book to read and truly inspirational. As a therapist I so very often see people fighting against their problems, fighting against their fears, all the while increasing the problem by doing so. What you resist persists. Instead of fighting your inner demons, this book teaches you an ancient Buddhist practice to embrace your inner demons and by doing so transform them into protectors and allies.

This book is a must-read, but more importantly a must-try, because the real power in this book is not in the reading, but in practising feeding your own inner demons.

Soul Angelsby Jenny Smedley

Do you ever wonder if you might have had a past life, and how it might affect you today? Do you ever dream that your connections to angels might be even closer than you thought?

This book brings these two concepts together in a dramatic revelation that will forever change the way you see yourself. Take a journey with Jenny Smedley as she explores and explains past lives and how they contribute to problems you might have today.

Discover the real you, and be prepared to be surprised and amazed at the wondrous being you’ll find. Soul Angels delves into angelic realms that you never dreamed existed, and shows you the path to true inner happiness.

This book is well written and reads like a wonderful novel. It takes you on a journey showing how past lives affect people’s current problems. It tells us that we do not only have guardian angels but also a Soul Angel that watches over all our incarnations and helps us keep on our true life’s path. The amazing news is that we are in truth a part of this Soul Angel, a little fraction of it that was sent to earth to learn, grow and experience. Thus, we are in truth of angelic origin. What a wonderful thought!

In this book all current problems are linked to past life trauma’s and the answer to this is to find a regression therapist to work through these past life issues. Though I find it an intriguing idea, I do wonder if there are not other ways to go about this without being dependant on an external.

All in all, a book well worth reading.

 by Mary LunnenDare to Blossom

Mary Lunnen is a life coach and writer who works one to one with people helping them to gain clarity and focus and achieve their dreams. Mary also runs inspirational workshops, developing the theme of Daring to Blossom: coaching and creativity. Quotes from people she has helped include “Mary offers a well-rounding service to improve one’s body, mind and spirit – a bonus I wasn’t expecting from life coaching” “Life coaching with Mary has helped me come to some major decisions” “Mary has a wonderfully gentle style and is well equipped with practical exercises which I found useful”

This book offers an opportunity to try out coaching and creativity exercises, giving a taster of the work Mary does one to one and in workshops. It offers an introduction to Life Coaching that can help you decide if this is something you can work with, or it can be a self-help book to work on your own with the various themes.

When reading the book, Mary’s personal style immediately drew me in and I read the book in two days. As I work as a psychologist and have my own art business, for me personally the book contained many things that inspired me for both my lines of work. The book deals with themes that are often dealt with in life coaching such as reviewing, gratitude, fear and communications and provides a lovely mix of information, personal examples and interesting exercises. I think the true power of this book is to be found in actively doing the exercises and then coming back to it from time to time.
